How to Follow Up Without Being Pushy When Networking
One of the biggest fears job seekers have is sounding pushy when following up. But here’s the truth: most people are busy, not annoyed.
Here’s a gentle follow-up you can use if you don’t hear back after a week:
“Hi [First Name], I wanted to circle back in case my message got buried in your inbox. Still interested in a brief conversation if you’re open to it, but no pressure either way. Appreciate the connection.”
Notice the difference? You’re not demanding attention. You’re giving the other person an easy out while still showing professionalism.
This one tweak often doubles response rates.
