A New Mission: The Proactive Job Seeker for Military Transitions
Dear subscribers,
After my recent hiatus for strategic planning, I'm excited to reveal the new focus for this newsletter:
The Proactive Job Seeker will now be dedicated exclusively to helping military personnel successfully transition to meaningful civilian careers.
Why This Specialized Focus?
Each year, approximately 200,000 service members transition to civilian life. Despite their exceptional skills and experiences, many face significant challenges in this pivotal career shift:
Nearly 50% leave their first civilian job within a year
Many experience underemployment relative to their capabilities
Traditional job search approaches fail to address the unique cultural and linguistic barriers they face
What's Coming Next Week
Beginning next week, this newsletter will provide specialized content to transform transitioning service members and veterans from passive applicants to proactive opportunity creators in the civilian job market.
Our first cornerstone article will address one of the most critical challenges: effectively translating military experience into language that resonates with civilian employers.
A Personal Note
This focused direction allows me to apply my three decades of career transition expertise to a community facing challenges that generic career advice doesn't address.
If you're not personally connected to military transitions but know someone who is, I'd appreciate it if you shared this newsletter with them.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
